Are Pittsburgh Pirates’ Extension Targets Worthy Of Long-Term Deals?

Perhaps it is a response to a second grievance filed against them by the Major League Baseball Players Association in a three-year span.

Or perhaps they really feel they have a core group of players that they can build a contending team around.

Whatever the case, the Pittsburgh Pirates are in talks for contract extensions with four players – per a report by The Athletic – right-hander Joe Musgrove, shortstop Kevin Newman, left fielder Bryan Reynolds and third base prospect Ke’Bryan Hayes.
