Where has the Patriots running game gone wrong?

The running game was supposed to be one of New England’s strengths.

The Patriots were supposed to pick up where they left off. Sony Michel, assuming he could get healthy — which he eventually did after a slow start to the summer — was supposed to continue developing and help Tom Brady carry the load on offense.

But life comes at you fast. The New England running game has been mediocre at best, averaging a paltry 3.3 yards per carry. It has struggled to build any consistency while dealing with injuries that have hurt the operation.
