As defenses adjust to signature RPOs and slants, Alabama prepares to answer

FORT​ LAUDERDALE,​ Fla.​ —​ Since​ Tua Tagovailoa entered​ the national​ championship game​ a season ago,​ the​ quick slant​ and​ the​ run-pass​ option​​ have been almost a signature of the Alabama offense.

It’s become more pronounced this season under first-year offensive coordinator Mike Locksley, but, as of late, the quick slant hasn’t been as productive as it was during the first half of the season. The tipping point came after the LSU game.
