Sources tell The Athletic that the Brewers have expressed interest in free-agent second baseman Daniel Murphy, as well as retaining free-agent third baseman Mike Moustakas. While Murphy was with the Washington Nationals in 2016, he finished second in the National League MVP voting. Last season, he slashed .299/.336/.454 in 91 games with the Nationals and Chicago Cubs, at times displaying the offense that landed him a lucrative free-agent contract in 2016.
