It’s time for The Athletic to reveal its two All-America teams, honoring the best performers of the 2019 season at every position. The All-America teams were selected by a panel of editors based on nominations from our staff of national and team writers across the country. First Team Offense QB Joe Burrow, Sr., LSU: As the unanimous winner of The Athletic’s 51-person staff Heisman poll, Burrow is an easy choice as the first-team All-American quarterback. The Ohio State transfer transformed his game in his second season at LSU, completing 77.9 percent of his passes (on pace to be the FBS record) for 4,715 yards, 48 touchdowns and just six interceptions. He’s completed at least 71.1 percent of his throws in all 13 games — all wins for the unbeaten No. 1 seed in the College Football Playoff.
