    2025 SIS Conference USA All-Conference Team

    It’s time to release our SIS All-Conference teams. We used our all-encompassing player value stat, Total Points, along with other metrics and our scouting work as leading references in putting together our team of selections for 2025, plus some honorable mentions.

    These picks are meant to honor this season’s best-of-the-best in the C-USA.

    Nick Minicucci finished 1st among C-USA QBs in Passing Total Points, with the 4th-most passing yards in the nation. Cam Cook and Evan Dickens finished 1st and 2nd respectively in the conference in rushing yards. Gabriel Benyard led the conference in receiving yards finishing just ahead of Alex Perry who led the conference in receiving EPA.  Eli Finley led all C-USA TEs in yards per route run. 

    Joep Engbers led the conference in Blocking Total Points and he was joined by Jaheim Buchanon and Steven Demboski in the Top-5 in Blown Block Percentage. And Anwar O’Neal and Marshall Jackson finished 1st and 2nd among C-USA tackles in Blocking Total Points.

    Ezra Christensen finished 1st in Pass Rush Total Points and tied for 3rd in the conference in sacks with 6 as a DT. Talan Carter finished 2nd behind Christensen in Total Points among defensive tackles largely on his 17 Run Defense Total Points. Mekhi Mason and Kolbe Fields formed a formidable duo in the heart of the Louisiana Tech defense leading all linebackers in Pass Defense Total Points. 

    Jakari Foster was probably good enough to be the conference Defensive Player of the Year, leading in interceptions and Total Points among defensive players by a good margin in both. And Shamir Sterlin, with his 18 Run Defense Total Points, landed in 2nd by Total Points just behind Foster. Neil Campbell was well rounded in his contributions but particularly stood out in his Run Defense Total Points, which led all C-USA cornerbacks. And Victor Evans III finished Top-3 among C-USA cornerbacks in both Pass Defense Total Points and Run Defense Total Points .

    Garrison Rippa led all C-USA kickers in FGs attempted and made. 

    John Hoyet Chance led the conference in Net Average and also finished Top-3 in the nation in punts inside the 20.

    Devin Gandy had one of the three kick return touchdowns in the C-USA, and also led the conference in average kick return yards

    Honorable Mentions

    Safety was a standout position for the conference this year, and as a result, Caleb Nix earned an honorable mention finishing 4th among C-USA safeties in Total Points. And Elijah Hill led the conference in sacks with 7 which deserves recognition.

    Dillon Gabriel ran away from the pack leading all Big 12 QBs in EPA, Positive%, and Bust%. RJ Harvey finished 3rd in the conference in Points Earned and led all RBs in receiving points earned (minimum 20 targets). Jayden Higgins and Adonai Mitchell finished 1 and 2 respectively in Receiving Points Earned in the conference. Ben Sinnott led all Big 12 TEs in Points Earned and led in Positive% for the position as well. And the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year and Doak Walker winner, Ollie Gordon II, led the conference in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns.

    John Lanz led all centers in Blown Block% and Total Points. Kelvin Banks Jr. and Amari Kight finished 2nd and 4th respectively at the tackle position in Points Earned. Kight also finished the year with a very respectable 0.8% BB%. Cooper Beebe and Hayden Conner took the 1 and 2 spots for guards in Total Points which landed them top 10 across the FBS as well.

    T’Vondre Sweat led all DTs in Run Defense Points Saved while teammate Byron Murphy II led all DTs in pass rush Points Saved. Collin Oliver led all pass rushers in Points Saved and led the conference in total pressures. Tre’mon Morris-Brash finished 2nd in total pressures, 2nd in sacks, and 1st in tackles for loss. 

    Danny Stutsman finished 1st in pass defense and rush defense Points Saved. Jaylan Ford finished Top 5 in both pass defense and rush defense Points Saved for the LB position, and had a conference best 12.3 Passer Rating Against. 

    Jacob Parrish, Beau Freyler, and Jakob Robinson finished 1st, 2nd, and 5th respectively in pass defense Points Saved. Deshaun Pace finished the season 3rd in Run Defense Points Saved for the safety position and led the position with 10 tackles for loss. Cobee Bryant finished 3rd overall in Run Defense Points Saved in the Big 12.

    Bert Auburn finished the year with 29 makes on 35 attempts, which led the conference in both categories.

    Ryan Rehkow led the conference in punt average, was tied for the longest punt, and was also tied for first with 25 punts inside the 20.

    Drae McCray led the conference with the most kick return yards, which was 3rd-best across the whole FBS.

    Tahj Brooks finished 1st in Rushing Points Earned  in the conference (minimum 100 carries). Javon Baker led the conference in intended air yards. Xavier Worthy led the conference in punt return yards, finishing with a whopping 234 more yards than 2nd place. Nickolas Martin led the conference in tackles. And, Billy Bowman Jr. led the conference in interceptions with 6.

    As we approach the beginning of the 2023 college football season, we want to highlight some of the top players in each conference by announcing our SIS Preseason All-Conference teams. We used our all-encompassing player value stat, Total Points, along with other metrics and our scouting work as leading references in putting together our selections.

    Jalon Daniels led all Big 12 QBs in EPA on pass attempts and Boom %. RJ Harvey was 2nd in the AAC in Positive % for RBs. Xavier Worthy was a popular deep target in the Big 12 finishing 1st in Intended Air Yards, almost 400 more than 2nd place. Lawrence Arnold finished 4th in Receiving Total Points while Ben Sinnott and Ja’Tavion Sanders were 1st and 2nd respectively for TEs in Total Points.

    Cooper Beebe and Lokahi Pauole finished top 3 in the FBS in Total Points for OGs. Wyatt Milum was 5th in Total Points and Tylan Grable finished 9th in the AAC in Total Points. And Rusty Staats was 7th in the FBS in Blown Block% with a measly 0.7%. Coincidentally Cooper Beebe was 1st at 0.4%

    Tony Bradford Jr. led all DTs in Pass Rush Total Points and pressures in the conference while Dontay Corleone led all DTs in the AAC in Run Defense Total Points. Daniel Grzesiak finished 2nd in the Mountain West in pressures. Among defenders with at least 20 pressures, Tre’mon Morris-Brash was top 10 in pressures and Pass Rush Total Points in the AAC.

    Jaylan Ford was the cream of the crop for Big 12 LBs finishing 2nd among FBS LBs in Total Points last season. Daniel Green was 2nd among LBs in EPA on pass attempts along with a 40% Deserved Catch %. Josh Newton finished 3rd in Pass Defense Total Points.

    TJ Tampa was stingy in defense, leading the Big 12 in Deserved Catch % among CBs with a minimum of 10 targets faced. Devin Lemear finished 2nd for safeties in Pass Defense Total Points while Kendal Daniels finished 2nd for safeties in Run Defense Total Points. And Kenny Logan Jr. finished 3rd in the Big 12 in tackles regardless of position.

    Griffin Kell went 17-of-19 on FGs including 8-of-9 on 40+ yard FGs. Mason Fletcher led the AAC in punt average as well as punts downed inside the 20. Hobbs Nyberg was top 10 in the FBS in kick return yards and was also top 5 in punt return average.
