Sports Info Solutions (SIS) opened its doors back in 2002 and has been on the leading edge of the advanced statistical study of baseball and football. Formerly, known as Baseball Info Solutions (BIS), the company’s mission is to provide the most accurate, in-depth, timely professional baseball and football data, including cutting-edge research and analysis, striving to educate professional teams and the public about analytics.

We started our football operation in 2015 and have seen exponential growth over the past three years. SIS employs a staff of expert baseball and football scouts and an army of highly trained video scouts who conduct several passes of each game, recording everything from basic box score data to more intricate data not seen in the box score.

Entry-Level Software Developer

Position Overview:
Sports Info Solutions (SIS) is looking for candidates to fill a full-time entry-level position in our IT Department. The candidate will develop new features and products as well as help maintain existing internal and external products within a mature codebase. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building applications, including anything from back-end services to their client-end counterparts. The primary responsibilities will be to design and develop these applications and to coordinate with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure. Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and quality product are essential.

2019 Football Video Scout

Position Overview:
Sports Info Solutions (SIS) is looking for highly motivated individuals with a desire to work in the football industry. Video Scouts will have a chance to make an immediate impression on the company. Each Video Scout will be collecting data that is directly used by SIS clients for advanced scouting and evaluation purposes. Not only will the Video Scouts become more familiar with the strengths and weaknesses of hundreds of amateur and professional players, but they will also learn about the ins and outs of the football analytics industry. Numerous Video Scouts have gone on to succeed in jobs with professional sports teams, collegiate teams and with SIS in a full-time capacity.

Strong candidates will possess great attention to detail, strong knowledge about NFL and NCAA rules, and be able to work in a collaborative team environment or independently, as needed.

Scout School: Led by former NFL scout, Matt Manocherian, SIS offers Video Scouts the opportunity to learn how to break down film, identify the critical factors for each position, and write NFL-style scouting reports. Scout School is an after-hours program designed for Video Scouts who are looking to begin their career as a football scout or evaluator. At the end of the season, the best scouting reports will be included in the 2020 SIS Football Rookie Handbook.

Duration: SIS Video Scouts will report to the SIS office in Pennsylvania to begin training on August 12th, 2019. The position will conclude December 4th, 2019. Top Video Scouts will be offered extensions through the end of the NFL regular season.



Compensation: A base hourly rate of $8.75 and/or college course credit will be offered to each Video Scout.

2019 Minor League Video Editing Internship

Position Overview:
Sports Info Solutions, originally founded as Baseball Info Solutions, is looking for highly motivated individuals with a desire to work in the baseball industry. In a new position for the 2019 season, SIS is looking for Minor League Video Editors, who will watch and clip video from Minor League games while validating the accuracy of pitch by pitch information. The end result of each Video Editor’s work will allow professional teams and other SIS clients to conduct advanced player and team analysis, specifically relating to advanced scouting and player development. Video Editors will have the opportunity to watch thousands of players across multiple levels of Minor League baseball, while also learning the ins and outs of the baseball industry.

We take pride in making our internships great development opportunities for those looking to get their start in baseball. In addition to gaining invaluable experience watching thousands of players across different levels, we offer introductory classes that cover writing scouting reports and using the database management language, SQL. We also provide insight and advice from previous SIS interns who have branched out into a variety of areas in the sports industry.
